Then I looked for help, and after finding none, I got creative. When I hit the "Next button" it told me that it was an "Invalid Product Key". When you install the game it asks for the CD registration key/Product code, so I copied the key exactly as it was written into the text box. Yesterday evening (08/20/12 6:55pm) I had purchased a copy of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for my computer from my local Best Buy. I didnt have a timestamp, but I did have two pics clearly showing that I do, in fact, own the game. If you bought it USED then it was never going to work thanks to Steamworks, although in the past Steam-support have tended to be relatively generous with this kind of thing presuming you can prove you bought a copy of the game (E.g. If you bought the game from best-buy NEW then you can of course get a refund pretty easily (hopefully). The money they make just off % cuts from selling games on Steam is enough to keep them running pretty much forever, which of course is pretty good for them. I am starting to hate Steam with a passion! Why do I have to make 3 accounts to use the service to it's full extent?Stockholm syndrome, once you have a lot of games on a convenient service you'll be reluctant to use another similar service, which then means that Valve can rely on people sticking with them.
